AMERICAN LABOUR

AGAINST SOVIET REGIME

RECOGNITION OPPOSED

(Sydney Sun Cable.)

NEW YORK, 17th May. Mr. Green, president of the American federation of Labour, has issued a statement that: "Especially following conferences with M. Kerensky, the Federation executive is strengthened in its determination to oppose the recognition of the Soviet Government by America until the Russian Red Internationale disavows its purpose to promote a world revolution and destroy the American Federation of Labour, and until a free Democratic Govern ment, recognising its obligations to its own people and a proper relationship to other nations, is established in Russia. The Russian Trades Unions are domin ated and controlled by tho Govern ment, and the Government is the Communist party. American trades unions seek freedom, not industrial nor political domination. Political liberty and industrial freedom are known by name only in Russia.
