WANGANUI, This Day. The Wanganui Jockey Club's Winter Meeting opened to-day in fine weather. The attendance is large aud the track is in good order. Results:—

Purua Hack Handicap, of 175 sov3; six furlongs.—s Partaga, 8.13, 1; 8 Denier, 7.9, 2; 15 Nastori, 7.7, 3. Scratched: Miss Pat. Won by a head, two lengths between second and third. Time, linin 15 2-ssec.

Hack Steeplechase, of 175 soys; two miles.—2 Little Eiver, 10.10, 1; 6 Labour Morn, 9.12, 2; 3 Banjukey 9.12, 3. Scratched: Peter Rosa, Eonmark, Gilgai, Rangi Sarto. Won by six lengths. Time, 4min 0 3-osec.

Wanganui Steeplechase^ of 600 soys; three miles.—lo Maunga, 9.10, 1; 9 Bonny Rill, 9.3, 2; 4 Gilgai, 9.0, 3. AH started. Won by half a length, six lengths between second and third. Time, 6min 7 4-ssec.
