NAPIER, This Day. Koy Ovcrend, who was knocked out in the final of a ten-round boxing contest last night, is now in hospital, dangerously ill. He took much punishment gamely from Tommy Griffiths, and finally sank to the boards. After being removed from the ring ho spoke but one sentence, and has been unconscious ever since. Ho was operated on last night, and a slight improvement was shown.

Hemorrhage of the brain was the doctor's decision.
