SAVED BY PARACHUTES

PABIS, 16th May. A strange accident occurred at Villa Coublay aerodrome. At a height of 1000 feet an aeroplane ran into an air pocket. The fall jerked out the pilot, but he was carrying a parachute, which immediately opened. Meanwhile the mechanic remained in tho 'plane, but he was unable to control it, bo he, too, jumped out, and the two airmen glided to safety. The aeroplane nose-dived and was completely destroyed.
