Finding a house on a dark evening, in a strange neighbourhood, is no easy matter so long as there is no regular system of lighting up house-names or numbers. In the enterprising town of HelsingfoTs, Finland, a new regulation has been introduced making this form of lighting up compulsory. The favourite device is a hexagonal porch lantern with the house-number inscribed on the glass.
