At the Supreme Court Lucy Charlotto "Witty, a widow, claimed from the Southland County Council £1500 damages as the result of the death of her husband who was struck by a motorcar driven by a. servant of the Corporation, John Guy Dennison, who has since left the Dominion. Witty was cycling at night on the right side of the road when he was run down, and the plaintiff contended that the damage to Dennison's car correspond with what would be expected from such a collision. The .jury; awarded £807. with costs. ' '
