LIQUOR ON LINERS

SEIZED IN NEW YORK

UNDER GUISE OF GLASSWARE

(United Prees Association.—Copyright.) NEW YORK, Hth May.

New York Prohibition agents, while raiding the liners Arabic and Delilian, docked here, seized liquor valued at 185,000 dollars, shipped under tho guise of glassware. It included primo vintages. Violation of the Volstead Act was not charged, but a carter who drove up to the dock to load the socalled "glassware" was arrested for alleged violation of tho tariff laws. Officials declared that a sweeping investigation would be made to determine the consignor and consignees. .It is believed the liquor was shipped under fictitious names from Antwerp. In view of the international comity involved, further steps will await a thorough investigation.
