PROMOTION OF OFFICERS

Tlic results of the October examination .in written subjects at stations abroad (excluding India and tho Army of tho Hhinc), witli a viow tci promotion, have reeontly been announcod. Among tho successful candidates arc:— Capain L. W. Andrew, V.C., Now Zealand Staff Corps; Captain T.. .T. King, New Zealand Army Ordunnco Corps; Captain S. M. Sntterthvaite; Lieuts. K. J. D. Davis, F. ,T. Dillon, and V. J. Inncs, New Zetland Staff Corps. ' Lieut. 11. H. Goss, First Battalion the East Yorkshire Regiment, .at Tientsin (a New Zealand • graduate of lho Royal Military Collego, Dimtroon), has also passed tho examination.

The following officers of tho Permanent Forces of Dominions overseas have recently graduated at the Staff College, Camborley, England:—Captain and Brevet Major W. J. M. Locke, M.C., and Captain S. F. Kowoll, Australian Staff Corps; Captain nud Brevet Maior R. J. Leach, M.C., Royal Canadian Artillery; Captain and Brevet Major A. 11. W. Landou, 0.8. E., M.C., lioyal Canadian Bogiment; and Major W. I. K. Jennings, D.5.0., Now Zoaiand Staff Corps.

It it also interesting to note that Captain 11. B. D. Willcox, D.5.0., M.C., tho Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghnmshiro and Derbyshire Regiment), who was transferred from tho- New Zealand Forces on 20th Doccmber, 1911, graduated at the same time, and has been appointed a General Staff Officer (3) Salisbury Plain Area, while Major Jennings has been selected to undergo a course at, lho rocontly-opened Imperial Defence College. ■
