SERIOUS CHARGED
AGAINST YOUNG MAN

The Magistrate's Court was cleared to-duy when charges of rape and indecent assault were made against Stanley Albert Miller, an hotel porter, nged 21 years.
A doctor stated that he had examined the girl and had found her in a lethargic state. He could not gay from what cause. ■
Tho girl, who gave her age as 16 years and 9 months, said, that while she was sitting on the river bank with three boys, one of them produced two bottles of wine from which all drank. Tho accused said that he had put something, in tho wine so that sho would •not get drunk. Later witness felt giddy. More wine was procured, which they drank in the hotel right-of-way. Witness tried to Walk but ran into the wall, and that was all she remembered until she heard someone speaking to her at the police station.
