UNION BUSINESS
At the business session of the Congregational Union yesterday the ootuoil, after careful consideration, resolved to ei.tablish a' central fund for the upkeep of the iloderatorial' office, and the purpose of augmenting the stipends of ordained married ministers/ making the minimum stipend £300 per annum with manse. It was decided to hold the ministers' retreat in September, probably at Masterton. It was also agreed to observe the month of consecration during June and July, the offerings to go to the college fund, after providing for the ycwmg people s department.
At the evening session a good number attended to hear the discourses on Churchmanship" by the Revs. Mark C, Jnnch and Norman Burgess. Mr. A. W Beaven, of Christchurch, occupied the chair. Tho. Cambridge Terrace choir g»v« the anthem, "Come, Winds of God."-To-night, at Cambridge Terrace, the' final public meeting will be held. The cha, r will be taken by Mr. D. A. Bwen. lhe speakers will be the Revs. E W Wev mouth and Stanley Morrison. .Music will be provided by the Newtown Church Lnoir.
