SERVICE AT ST. PAUL'S

ATTENDED BY DUKE AND

DUCHESS

Their Royal Highnesses and suite attended divine service at St. Paula Pro-Cathedral yesterday morning. The church was filled, and Mulgrave street and the streets leading to' it were crowded -with spectators, although no public intimation had been given that the Duke and Duchess would be attending St. Paul's. Among those present were the Prime Minister (the .Right Hon. J. G: Coates) and Mrs. Coates, members of the Government and their wives, the Mayor: (Mr. C. J. B. Norwood) and Mrs. Norwood, and City Councillors and :their- wives.

The' Bishop of Wellington (the Eight Eev. Dr. T. H. Sprott) was the preacher.

He referred in detail to the work of th« Melanesian mission, and dwelt on the future possibilities in the' Pacific'

The service concluded with the National Anthem. .

Their Royal Highnesses spent the afternoon quietly at Government House.
