GIFTS TO PLAYERS

Gifts of Kaiapoi rugs were made at the luncheon adjournment ot the cricket match to-day to vie four Canterbury players—M. L. Page, W. Cunningham, C. Oliver, and W. E. Merritt —who have gained places in the New Zealand team.
Mr. R. B. Ward, a vice-president of the Canterbury Cricket Association, made the presentation on behalf of the association.
