GOLF
WELLINGTON CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS ■
In the semi-final, E. O. Hales beat R. 0. Cliesney 2 and 1. This match in the later stages caused rather a surprise, as at the end of the -norning round Chesney had an advantage of 4 up, which he increased to 5 up at the first hole of the second round. Hales, however, playing accurate golf, gradually wore his opponent down and won the match.
In the semi-final of the junior championship, P. M. Morris defeated F. H. Nixon 2 and 1. Morris and M. Blundell play off the final.
