The disturbance due to-day has been.' held off by the existing high-pressure" system, but there were indications of'; it -yielding early this afternoon. There have been scattered rainfalls in the northern districts, and cloudiness has increased. The forecast is for easterlywinds, moderate to strong and increase' ing northward of ■ East Cape and Ka-'----whia, with freshening northerners thence to 'New Plymouth and Napier, and strong to gale in and southward of' Cook Strait. The barometer is likelyto fall further everywhere. Warm and humid conditions and increasing cloud and haziness 'are predicted, with rain, probably following generally.
