BLENHEIM, 3rd March. The Marlborough Racing Club's Summer Meeting opened to-day in delightful weather. There was a very large attendance. The course was a.trifle hard. The totallsator receipts were £9719, as against £9704 last year. Results:— Xorice Hack Handicap, of 100 soys; weights, two years S.O, three years and upwards, 8.7; five furlongs.—4 Silo (D. Cotton), 1; 1 Theodolite, 2; 3 Silver Cord, 3. Also started: 7 Wetstick, 9 Emiform, 5 Perianda, 6 Handsome. 8 Rosebush, 2 Exhibition. Won by a neck, a length and a half between second and third. Time, lmin'2 4-ssec. Starborough Trotting Handicap, of 100 soys; one mile and a half.—6 Peter M'Millan, 108 yds behind (D. H. Stove), 1; 2 Rebecca, scr, 2; 3 Blazer Wilson, scr, 3. Also started: 8 Balayah scr, 1 Caterpillar 24yds bhd, 7 Rothmour 21yds bhd, 3 Weatwood 36yds bhd, 5 Miss Leeda 156 yds bhd. Won- by half a length, ten lengths between second, and third.
