SCOTS AND QUEEN MARGARET COLLEGES.
n The Board of Governers of Scots and Queen Margaret Colleges met last week, the Rev. Dr. Gibb presiding. The principal- of Scots College, Mr. Murdoch, reported that the year had opened with a very gratifying increase in boarders of fifteen per cent., representing a fifty per cent, increase during the last two years. The dux of the school, W. Mason, came third in the Junior University Scholarship Examination, closely rivalling last years' dux, Russell Fraser, who headed the Junior University Scholarship list. In sports, the engagement of Mr. Badcock had been a great success, and in a recent match with St. Andrew's College, Christehurch, Scots College had secured the honours of the day, a result that the boys had been striving for for many years.v' The principal of Queen Margaret College, Miss Wilson, reported a strong roll number, and school renovations carried out during the holidays were very much appreciated by staff and pupils alike. Miss Phyllis Wilson was appointed sports mistress in place of Miss H. Taylor, who had" been appointed to the Otago Girls' High School. It was reported to the board that Mr. C. E. Scott, president •of, the Old Boys' Association, had in the last examinations secured his Master of Laws degree with first-class honours.
