WELLINGTON CROQUET CLUB.
A very enjoyable afternoon was spent on the Wellington Municipal Croquet Club.'s lawns on Wednesday, when the members of-the club, assisted by a number of the Artillery Committee, held an afternoon to raise funds in aid of the Artillery Queen (Miss Norwood). There was a large number of players from other clubs and their friends present, and the funds benefited- substantially by the eiFort. Mrs. Norwood nnd Miss Norwood were present for a time during the afternoon. Mrs. Hendry (president) received the guests, and later presented the trophies won for the various competitions held during the afternoon. The president expressed thanks for the valuable assistance rendered in making the day a successful one.
