An unusual position aroso in tho Supremo Court 'his morning when a easo was called in which tho creditors sought to have the remuneration of tiio liquidator of a business, assessed by tlio Court. Counsel for tho liquidator said .that he was in a difficult position, because his client had not been seen since "Wednesday. His Honour: "Has he got the £350?" Counsel for the creditors: "Yes, ho made a claim for that amount, and the creditors contended it was far in excess of what ho deserved." A dividend of 12s Gd in £ had been paid, and the liquidator had retained possession of £350. Ho had merely acted as a bookkeeper and had signed cheques. The creditors were alarmed at tho present position. Tho liquidator's counsol disputed the statement that his client had been.merely a book:: .(.p cr . Although his absence was not explained, a noighbour had telephoned stating that tho liquidator had been suffering from an illness contracted in Egypt. Counsol was not prepared to ask for an adjournment, llis Honour, however,' postponed further consideration till Wednesday, and ordered that an tho meantime tho matter be investigated by a public accountant.
