FOUND SHOT

. ■ TE KUITI, This Day. A well-known farmer named Walter William Jones was found dead at the front of his house at Mangaronga, 12 miles from Otorohanga, with a gunshot wound in the forehead at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday. The deceased was a son of "Mokau? 1 Jones, who took a prominent part in the early history of Mokau and Awakino. The deceased had lived for the last three years in Tauranga, where he took a prominent part in local politics. Recently he purchased a farm at Mangaronga, where the tragedy occurred. An inquest was held on Sunday afternoon, when a verdict was returned that the deceased died from a gunshot wound. There was no evidence to show how it was inflicted.
