HOSPITAL RADIO PLANT.
The first tender has been let for the wiring in connection with the broadcast receiving equipment to be installed throughout the Wellington Hospital. The new wards are to be wired first; the building being still in course of erection, the wiring can be concealed. The successful tenders for the work are Messrs. Thomas Ballinger and Co. The contract represents only a small portion of the work of wiring the whole of the wards. The amount collected to date for the fund totals over £.1000, but several hundred pounds, more are required to defray the complete cost of wiring, the main receiving set, headphones, necessary electrical appliances, and erection of the aerial.
