SKIN AND HIDE SALES
Wellington ■brokers held their usual sales of skins, hides and tallow yesterday. There was a keen demand for ■- fine sheep wool skins, which realised a shade above lasfc' sale rates. Others and salteds were firm.* Hides of all weights were wanted, and heavier were %d to %d up on; last sale: rates; mediums and lightweights'were jar' to a%d better. Kipsand 'yearlings main-! tamed last sale prices, and calves were' kd better. Tallow, dull. Prices ■ realised were as follows:—Sheepskins: Half bred,' 9%d to 13% d; fine.crossbred, lid to 12%d----medium/coarse crossbred, 9%d' to J2dshort/half wools, 7Yzd to- oV4dplambs.'
