STOCK SALES.

Messrs. Dalgety and Coi" Ltd;,- report on the following stock sales:—"At:a clearing sale at Pahautanui on the Bth, on account of Mr. J. H. Carter, there was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding was keen. The whole .offering' -was cleared at satisfactory prices.: Quotations: Dairy cows,' April; calvers,-£7* £7 55,--to £8 dairy cows, September'calverß, £5 17s 6d to £6; dairy cows,, inferior,' £3 to £4. Cows, just calved, £3 to £5 25.6 d; 2-year heiferß, £3 to £3 17« 6d; yearling heifers (good), £3 6s; s.h-.- bulk ■ £5; cows and calves, £3 ss; two-year £4 10s; four-year steers, £7 ss; weaner pigs, 21s to 265. ■ •'■■ " : ■■ ■■■■'■■ . "At a special sale held at Plimmerton on the 9th instant, we yarded just on COO wethers and ewes, and, although-the attendance of buyers was not large," to effected a total clearance at prices showing a slight reduction on recent sales. Quotations: Two-tooth, ewes, ■ 21s : 4d; forward two-tooth wethers,-20s 9d; four and five year ewes (guaranteed mouthes), 20s 6d. "At Otaki sale on the 10th instant- * large yarding, of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle came forward. ' The. attendance of buyers was good, but they were all verycautious in bidding, with the result that several line* fbiled to make reserves. Prices all round for «heep were a shade easier. Cattle sold at Hto rates. Quotations: Fat ewoa, 14s 6d; f»t cows, £3, £4, io £4 ss; m.s. weolly lambs, small, 9s. Id; cull lambs, 4s; b.f. lambs (good),. 13s; twotooth wethers (small),'2os.3d; halfbred wethers (small), 14s; .four' : tooth "wethers, 20s 3d; store {cows, 20s; cows' -and oalve'si £3 10s; m.s. weaners, 10i;*'-18- months steers, £2; forward p.a. bullock*. £7 10s; buHs, £2 10s/*
