NEW ZEALANDERS ABROAD

(From Our Own Correspondent) . . LONDON, 30th. December. ' Sir.Thomas Mackenzie, accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. A. V. M'Donald will leave for New Zealand on 20th January by the Tamaroa.

Mr. 0. M. Pocfcen, B.Sc. (Melb.) D Phil(Oxon), the newly-appointed lecturer m Physics at. Otago University, is on a holiday in Switzerland, and will I have only one week in England before leaving for New. Zealand. He has booked his passage by the-Canard liner Ascama, leaving Southampton on 20th January, and travelling via New York Toronto, and: Vancouver, he will connect at the latter port with the Tahiti on 9th February, arriving in Auckland at the end of that month. ' Mr. Focken expects to be in Dunedin by the first week of March. This will be his first acquaintance with New Zealand as he has never visited the Dominion He was educated at Melbourne, and knows most of the Australian capitals Mr. Albert J. Batehelor, late secretary of the Australian Board of Missions in Western Australia, and formerly of the New Guinea Mission, has been' ■appointed organising secretary of the Missionary Exhibits Department of the S.P.G. He has lately returned to England from New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Canada, and the United States. Sir James Mills has disposed of the lease of his London house, 60, Princes Gate, South Kensington. He is going abroad to avoid the winter..
