MARTON, This Day.

At the Railway Junction, a 6 o 'clock last evening, a retired farmer named James Willacy_ was run down by an engine proceeding to the sheds.

A railwayman named Bbulston, who was on duty over one. hundred yards away, saw Willacy fall beneath the tender of the engine, which was proceeding backwards. The deceased had been noticed p-eviously walking towards the station. He was on his way to Ohakune to purchase some sheep. His relatives state that his hearing and eyesight were good. He leaves four sons and two daughters.
