SAILORS' REST SOCIETY.

A very enjoyable evening was spent at the rooms of the Sailors' Rest Society, Waring Taylor street, on Wednesday last, when an excellent concert programme was arranged by the Island Bay Surf and Lifesaving Club. Items were given by Mrs. Boutell, Misses Schon, Collins, Lennie, Stanley, Wilton, Messrs. MTSwan, Knapp, Ingram, Dicker, Watson, Wilton, Gray, and the club's mouthorgan band. At the close of the programme supper was provided by the society's social committee. •Mr. Rollet, president of the society, thanked the Visitors on behalf of the men of the Mercantile Marine, and spoke on the fundamental-principles of Christianity.
