SHOOTING SEASON

The following recommendations of the Game. Committee were adopted at the-meeting of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society last night:— 1. That there be. an open season, for 1927.

2\ That the season for native game, viz., grey duck, mallard duck, shoveller duck, and black swan, be from Ist May to 30th June, both included. Limit, twenty birds per gun per day, of which five only may be black swan.

3. That the season for imported game (cock pheasants, Australian and Calif ornian qnail), also hares, be from Ist May to 31st July, both included—no limit.

4. That.no season for pukeko.be applied for.

5. That, holders of a game shooting license of £1 per season, 1927, may take godwit during February and March, 1928.

_ 6. That in other respects the regulations be the same as for 1926.
