Nominations for the Wellington Trotting Club's Meeting, on 26th February and 2nd March, are due next Wednesday, The club has an attractive two-day programme. Nominations for the Otahuhu Meeting close on Friday at 5 p.m. The Metropolitan Club's one-day meeting on 12th February is the next to engage the attention of Southern enthusiasts. Probably some of the horses to race at Hutt Park will be seen out at Addington. - ■ , ■.. ■ .

After Logan Park's win in the Southland Handicap, on the first day of the Forbury Park Trotting Club's recent meeting, he was sold to the Wellington owner, Mr. R. A. Armstrong, president of the Wellington Trotting Club, and, driven by W. J. Tomkinsott, started favourite in the Stewards' Handicap on the second /day. Logan Park failed to leave the mark and practically took no part in the race. He is a useful soft, who should pay his way. :

Nelson Derby had been going particularly well in his work since his return from .the Auckland Meeting. Early last week, lowever, he went wrong again; and had' to be thrown out of work. It was particularly unfortunate for his owner and W. J. Tomkinson, his trainer,-as, on the form shown in training, Nelson Derby looked as though--he-would have raced very prominently at the Forbury Park Trotting Club's Meeting, which was concluded last Saturday.

The brilliant' New Brighton pacer.Onyx has been causing J. Messervey a deal of trouble lately on account of.lameness. It looks as if the racing career of this great mare was nearly at an end.

Bell Harold has been recommissioned after a spell. He, looks rough,: but he is in good health-. W. J. .Tomkinson should have this brilliant pacer' ready to show some form again by Easter.

Delavan's Quest has been thrown out of work, and it is unlikely that he will be raced here again. The present intention is to return him to Australia.

Sheik is enjoying a short spell, but probably P. Riddle, will have him.in action again later in the season. ■ ■
