TOY DOG SHOW

CHAMPIONS ON EXHIBITION.

Judging from the number of entries and the quality of the exhibits, the New Zealand Toy Dog Club's ninth annual show, which is being held to-day in the grounds adjoining Mrs. B. Wills'a residence, "Oak Grove," Hankey street, should be very successful. Many of New Zealand's champion dogs are being shown, and the task of the judge (Mr". P. W. Willson) is bound to be no easy one. Among the champions being exhibited are Miss Jean Harper's Pekingese Jazzy of Tang, and Mrs. A. Newton s pomeranian, Sunburnt Little Chick, which have been very prominent in previous Shows. '

A feature of the show is the large number of entries in the pomeranian class. Mrs. b. Johnson, of Palmerstoh North, is showing high class progeny from her recentlyimported English dogs. There are also some fine exhibits in the class for pugs. In some of the variety classes, in which dogs ot all breeds compete for premier honours, there should be a particularly fine showing, lhe prize-list is a long one, and valuable trophies are bamg awarded. Much interest is attached to the Erickson Challenge bhield, which is awarded to the owner of the best dog in the show. Previous winS? o T.f;the^ hi T eld aio: 192°> Mrs. G. Lewis; ?
