MISS FRANCES MORRISON.

After an absence of three and a half years in Chicago, Miss Frances Morrison, the famous contralto, has returned to JSlew Zealand, and local music-lovers will be more than pleased at» the announcement that she is to give an invitation recital at the Concert Chamber on 17th February. The critic of the "Musical News" wrote after her performance at a Chicago concert:—"Miss Frances Morrison, has one of the finest contralto voices it has ever been'the pleasure of the writer to hear. She has a charming sincerity of manner." The "British American" stated: bhe sang a group of Rumanian songs and one of Italian vintage, her melodiously deep voice thrilling her audience." Assisting Miss Morrison will be Mr. Leon de Mauny, the well-known violinist, and Mrs Charles M'Donald, an accomplished pianist. ■
