AQUATIC CARNIVAL
SPORTS AT WORSBR BAY
The 17th annual carnival of the Worser Bay Amateur Swimming and Life-saving Club attracted a large crowd of-picnickers and visitors to Worser Bay on Saturday afternoon, despite the rather unpromising weather about midday. There was a large programme of aquatic events, us well as amusements on the beach, and all were well patronised. Chief b£ these was the lite-saving contest for the Wahler Cup. The competing teams showed splendid keenness and efficiency as is evident from the fact that the Maranui B team won the cup only by one-third of a point from' Lyall Bay A team, the score reading 89,1-3 points, and 89 points respectively. The Hon.- K. A: Wright presented the cup, and spoke of the fine work the life-saving clubs are' doing; Children's races of various descriptions were conducted on the beach by Messrs.
