PERSONAL MATTERS

The Attorney-General (the Hon. F. J. Bolleston) returned this afternoon from Auckland.

The Minister of Lands (the Hon. A. D. M'Leod) and the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. O. J. Hawken) are expected to return to Wellington tonight from the Taupo district.

The Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.C., returned to Auckland last evening.

The Hon. W. W. Snodgrass, M.L.C., was a passenger for* Auckland by the Limited express last night;

Dr. C.- G. Beakes, Director-General of Agriculture, is spending his annual holiday in the Auckland district.

The funeral of the late Mr. Thomas M'lntyre, for over 40 years a member of the jobbing room staff of the "Evening Post,'.' took place yesterday afternoon., from, his residence in the Hutt Valley to Karori Cemetery. The proprietors of the "Evening Post" were represented by Mr. W. Blundell and fel-low-workers in his former department, and representatives of other departments attended. The late Mr. M'lntyre was a past master of the Lodge Waiwetu, and there was a large attendance of lodge members, who acted as pall-bearers. A service was conducted at the residence by the Bey. W.Eowe, who also officiated at the graveside, a Masonic burial service also being conducted by. the master of the lodge. Many beautiful floral tributes from relatives and friends and from fellowworkers arid lodge members were laid upon the grave.
