The Liberal Council has issued » statement to the effect that the Administrative Committee Js acceptance. of: Mr. Lloyd George's endowment entailed serious consequences to the party's organisation, including a morar obliga- . tion towards the donor, apparently: incompatible with the freedom of'policy] and judgment essential to healthy po- [ litical action. The Liberal Council, .al« \ though not antagonistic to.existing-oj> j ganisations, .will remain, independent of j the fund, and the -obligation, attaching I to acceptance of itj'-lrat will:co-operat9; i as regards all Liberal causes. ■" T j
