CHILD DIES-FROM BURNS
An inquest on Dougald Grant, aged 74, who died on 20th January at the Wellington Hospital, where he was admitted, suffering from burns, .was held to-day before Mr. E. Page, S.M.
Hanna Bramley gave evidence that the deceased had come to her house about 9.20 a.m. on 17th January to play with her children. 'After they had been playing for some time witness heard a scream, and saw the boy's clothes alight. He was wearing a fancy dress suit and witness later found matches in his pockets.
Rawina Bramley, who was playing with Dougald Grant, said that she saw two'dead matches in his hand, but they had. not been lighting. any matches.
Charles Henry Grant, the father of the deceased, said that he afterwards found two matches in the' pockets of his son's clothes.
A verdict.of^accidental'death vjas re tujied.
