THE NEW PRAYER BOOK

CHANGES AND ADDITIONS

(United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Reieived 21st January/ 2 p.m.) LONDON, 20th January. The "Church of England" newspaper Understands that the bishops are practically unanimous regarding • the changes and additions to morning and evening services, and occasional offices in the Prayer Book. They have completely remodelled the marriage service, in which there are notable omissions and many interesting additions. They have revised . the baptism and burial services, and'added new prayers and collects for both. The text is most appropriate and consistent with the Church's fundamentals.

The newspaper believes that the revision will be acceptable to churchmen of all schools of thought, except the oppone>s of jmy change, for whom the present Prayer Book is available.
