AUSTRALIAN MATCHES
The monthly meeting of the council, of .the New Zealand Golf Association was held at tho secretary's office on Monday. Present: R. G. Kirk (chairman), J. B. M'Ewan, A. J. Abbott, A. D. S. Duncan, and Captain Comvay. Apologies for absence were received from W. E. A. Gill and H. R. Balneavis. The statement of finance showed a balance at the Savings Bank and the National Bank of New Zealand, totalling £719. In connection with the professionals' autumn tournament, at Rotorua, 9th,. 10th, and 11th March, the secretary reported that the programmes will be circulated about the end of this week. . Details were discussed in connection with the Kirk-Windeyer Cup, and a report was received from Australia showing that the competition had been approved by the New South Wales Association. The teams will, consist of four amateurs and the first competition will be in Sydney next June, about the time of the New South Wales State championships: It was resolved to pay the actual expenses of the four members of the team, and it was resolved to ask clubs to nominate any member of the national handicap of fivo.or under who would be willing to go. Nominations to be in by the' end of March, and the team will be selected by the council iii April. . The Rangitikei Golf Club, Bulls, which had hecß duly "proposed and seconded, was elected a member of the association.
