LODGE MEETING
At the tortnightly meeting of the Xoyal Britannia Lodge t . Manchester Unity Oddfellows, Bro. W. B. 8r0wn,.N.G.,-presided. Visitors in attendance fere wßro. Turner D D CM., with Bro. W. I. Clark, District Secretary, and Bro. Blair, P.D.G.M., -who were present for the purposo of installing- the v newlyelected officers. Those elected for the ensuing term were: 1.P.N.G., Bro. W. B. Brown; Noblo Grand, Bro. ,13. Janeo;'Vlce Grand Bro. A. B. SfDonagh; Secretary; Bro. - B Brlckman; Warden, Bro. J. L. Stewart; Inside Guardian, Bro. E. Johnson; Outer Guardian, Bro. > L. Robinson. The lecture master reported that he had advanced a number of brothers, to the gold degree. Bro. Kennedy PG conducting the ritual. It was resolved that tho namo of Bro. iVK S. Martin be placed on tho merit board on his attalng P.G. rank. .Delegates from each division of the Order of Sons of Temperance of New Zealand were present for the ..twenty-eightli annual, session. Bro. E. BillclifT, . Most Worthy Patriarch, was in .the chair. The annual report and balance-sheet disclosed a very sound financial position. The total iunds amounted to £24,623 19s lid a net increase for the year of £787 6s. Sick and funeral claims amounted to £580 13s Bd, a decrease of £88 19s\6d, compared with the previous year. The membership oi the Order also showed an increase, and now stands at 555. The Resolution Division, Rangiora, won the membership shield with a gain of one in eight members. The election of officers'resulted as follows:—Most Worthy Patriarch, Bro. R 15. Devereux (Wellington); M.W. Associate, Bro. H. Harrison (Fendalton) • M.W. Sciibe, Bio. J. H. Jones (Addington); M.W. Treasurer, Bro. F. Lucas (St Albaus); M.W. Chaplain, Bro. C. P. Kendall (Wanganui); M.W. Conductor] Bro. R. J. Hitchings ' (Ch'ristchurch); M.W. Sentinel, Bro. G. Turner (Rant;!----ora); M.W. Supt. (Juveniles), Sister E. G. Pevereux (Wellington); M.W. Trustees,' Bro. Clothier, Bro. Kent, and Bro." T. limes; Auditors, Bros. Bedwell and G. Woodham (Christchurch). Past Most Worthy Patriarch's Jewels were presented to Mrs. Devereux, the first lady Most Worthy Patriarch in the world, and also to Bro. P. poodsall (Christchurch). Tho executive was empowered to open division in places where such action was considered advisable. The next . annual session was set down for Kaiapoi, -where si demonstration will also be held. Greetings were received from the various divisions.
