LONDON, 11th January.' :A novel aerial .sport,' balloon jumping, is'repented shortly to be introduce ed into Britain. It is already popular in America, says the "Evening News.'* A gas-filled balloon, 15 feet in diameter, is regulated by ballast until thj» balloon "supports the whole weight except four pounds. -Thus the man. has only to lift four pounds, with the .result that tho energy normally ■used in jumping two feet high over a width o£ six feet enables a man to jump foity, feet high over a distance of a hundred yards. A jumper assisted by a strong wind has progressed aeroßS country in gigantic quarter-mile leaps.
Raynham, the air pioneer, and Squad-ron-Leader Wright are hopeful,of. organising balloon jumping cross-countrj; races.
