BANDITS WIPE OUT VILLAGE. (Received 12th January, 9 a.m.) : SHANGHAI, 11th January. ' ■ A private message from Shantung re- ' cords a terrible massacre.by-bandits; The' villagers; of the town of Wangshihpao, fifty miles' eastward of the ; Jjirthplace of Confucius, Cufu, actively ' 'opposed bandits, who thereupon awaited reinfoTeements, surrounded tho village, set fire to it, and slaughtered all without respect of age or sex. Somp were \ burned to death in their homes,, and others shot in . attempting to escape. Small children were; pulled to pieces.
