DUNEDIN HOSPITAL
IMPORTANT APPOINTMENTS.

DUNEDIN, 11th January.
> At a special meeting of tho Otago Hospital Board to-night,. Dr. James Thomson, M.A., .M.8.;. Ch.B., ofv Glasgow, was appointed medical, superintendent of the Dunedin Hospital, and Dr. Alex. Gillios, of London, senior resident medical officer.
Dr., Thomson is 40 year» of ago and-a graduate at Glasgow University. He is at present assistant superintendent of the Glasgow Infirmary 1 Ho saw war service with, the R.A.M.C. from 1914 to 1919 and for the latter half oi this period was in charge of the, 58th Gen=eral Hospital in France. Or. Thomson has made'a, special study of 'hospital organisation. Dr. Gillies is' a graduate of Edinburgh. and.Liverpool Universities. He was born 'in Scotland and is 35 years of age. Ha''has acted as clinical assistant at Cra'ylo'ek4;art Hospital, Edinburgh, for ono year, nine months as resident house surgeon at Shropshire Orthopaedic Hospital, and was six months in a similar position at the Royal Southern Hospital, Liverpool. He was also for a time consulting-radiologist to the West Derby Union. ,
