FAREWELL TO MR. COYLE

PRESENTATION FROM HOSPITAL ■ BOARD.

Mr. John Coyle, who for' . eighteen years has been secretary to the Wellington Hospital Board,-and is leaving by the TJlimaroa on Friday to take up the position of secretary-superintendent to. the Newcastle Hospital Board, was farewelled by members of v the Hospital Board to-day. . ' Mr. C. M. Luke, chairman, in. referring, to the valuable services rendered - to the 'board by Mr. Coyle, said he doubted whether any public officer leaving Wellington took the wishes that accompanied. Mr. Coyle, who had always been conscientious and attentive to his duties. Mr. Luke" said he regretted the , parting after such long and faithful service, but he hoped Mr. Coyle would succeed well in his new sphere. Mr. Luke presented to' Mr. Coyle, on behalf, of the board, a silver afternoon tea service and a gold fountain pen and pencil, and in doing so said the gifts did not by any means measure the esteem in whicli Mr. Coyle was held, Taut were a tangible expression 'of that feeling. "They will serve to remind you from time to time that you aro thought;of," he said, ."and we wish you.. every success and every blessing.." " V Appreciation of Mr. Coyle's services was also expressed by Mesdames lea-ser-and M'Vicar. Dr. J. K. Elliott, and Messrs. W. Appleton, A. J. M'Curdy, 11.I 1.
