Sims beat J. A. 3?. Watson, 6-3, 6-1. Second Round.—E.'-L. Bartleet beat B. C. Chalmers, 6-4, 6-2; P. R. Chisholm bean A. E. Richardson, 6-3, 64. Third Round.—Bartleet beat M.iieod,----64, 6-2. Ladies' Singles. Second Round.—^Miss M. Speirs beat Miss G. Bygate, 6-1, 6-2; Miss B. Knightbeat Miss M.- Stevens, 6-1, 6-1. . ■ ■ - ■ Men's Doubles. The men's doubles lost considerable interest owing to the fact that the New Zealand championship winners, Sturt and Knotf were unable to play together, Knott being unable to spare the time from business. In the second round. Bartleet and Robson beat A. S. Lamb and K. Boardtaan, 6-3, 64. E. W.. Griffiths and H. Brinsden beat R. B. Hardy and A. M. Nicholson, 6-3, 6-3. Third Round.—Brinsden and Grriffitbs beat M'Leod and Lusk, 7-5, 7-2. Ladies' Doubles. . ' : • ' First Round.—Misses Speirs and Millar beat Miss Maxwell and Mrs. Francis, 6-1, 6-1. Misses Napier and Wbitelaw beat Misses Macfarlane and Lowry, 4-6, 6-1, 8-6. . Second Round.—^Mesdames Scott-Watson and Arneil beat Misses Speirs and Miller, 4-6, 6-2, 64. - -.-,.-• Combined Doubles. First Round.—Miss Knight ■ and Sims beat Miss Stevens and Somerville, 6-0, 6-3. Miss'Lowry and E. W. Griffiths beat Miss Whitelaw and A. K. Turner, 64, 10-8.
