MR, J. r ALEXANDER, C.M.G.' Mr. John Alexander, C.M.G., is a well-known Auckland barrister, and was chairman of tho Royal Commission which sat in 1925 to investigate charges made by Mr. W. D. Lysnar, M.P., regarding the sale of the Poverty Bay Meat Works. For some years ho was a prominent yachtsman, and has been vice-commodore of tho Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. He has been closely, connected with tho Navy League, and has done good service as official visitor to the Avondale Mental Hospital. Mr. Alexander is a member of the Prisons Board.
