RETURNS FROM OTHER CENTRES.

Customs revenue collected in Napier during'l926 totalled £240,599, only £.1853 below the 1925 total, which was a record year for the port. ■ AUCKLAND, 2nd January. lhe Auckland Customs revenue for 1926 exceeds that of 1925 by £58,057 tho respective totals being £2 509 841* and £2,451,784. The increase' is small compared with previous years The returns for December showed a substantial improvement, the total being £230,805, against £201,184 for December 1925, an increase of £29 621. The increase for the year 1925 was £198,000. For 1924 it was £63,000 and in 1923 it was £501,682. Imports from Britain to^ Auckland declined slightly during the year. Those from Australia showed a moderate increase, and . those from Europe, Canada, and the United States showed a considerable increase. BoerJduty collected at Auckland last month amounted to £11,560, compared with £14,740 in December, 1925. , CHRISTCHURCH, 2nd Jan. A sum of £7,163,050 was collected in .Customs duties in Christehurch, a decreases of £11,227 on the figures for 1925. There was also a decrease'in the beer duty; the figures for 1926 boing £88,746 and for 1925 £90,785, a decrease 1 of £2039!
