SHIPS DELAYED
DISPUTES WITH SEAMEN.

AUCKLAND, This D/ay. : Three vessels were : delayed: at Auckland during the week-end owing to trouble with the crews, but two of them were able to sail. The. departure of the Ulimaroa for Sydney on 'Friday was delayed for throe hours anci a half owing to'four firemen being inissing. When they wero found and takcm to the wharf they refused to go aboard, becauso they objected to sailing -with one of tho other stokehold handsj It was shown that this man was a? financial member of the union, and 7ha,d joined by permission of the Sydney; secretary. Eventually, on being assure^ that the matter had been satisfactorily settled in Sydney, the men went aboard The Tofiia was also.delayed by a dispute with the firemen, b«t sailed for Fiji an hour after the scheduled time Trouble regarding the ctfews' accommodation on the coastal-steamer Gunbar prevented her from sailing for Gisborno and Napier on Saturday.
