A consignment of valuable sheep was ' trucked at Waikari on Tuesday morning, consisting of 70 Gorricdales and three merinos, which have been sold for '' 3575 guineas. They have been pur- ■ chased from well-known breeders, and avo for shipment to Argentina. The animal picnic of the Loyal Orange Institution, Wellington District No. 1, will be held at Maidstonb Park on New Year's Day. All members and friends are invited. Trains leave Lambton at 9.5 and 9.40. To-morrow (Christmas Night), at V o'clock, the Rev. H. E. Wallia, M.A. (Cambridge), will deliver a special address in the Maranatha Hall, 125, Lambton quay, on "The Incarnation," the Foundation Mystery of the Christian Faith.
