SOCCER TOUR

THE CANADIAN TEAM.

VANCOUVER, Ist December. Different methods to those followed in the selection of the All Blacks are to mark the choice of the eighteen players that will make up the Canadian Soccer team to tour New Zealand next season.

In the first place, players who consider themselves fit for selection, and who will be willing and able to get the necessary leave to make the trip, must send in their names to the general secretary of the Dominion Football Association.

Arrangements for the tour '"are now completed. The Canadian team will sail from Vancouver on 4th May, and will play nineteen matches in New Zealand, returning to reach here on 19th August.

The final date for receipt of names of candidates for selection is 12th January. Provincial organisations must recommend selection before the matter will be passed by the Dominion body to its , Selection Committee. „

Applicants are required to state age, height, weight, place of birth, length of residence in, Canada, club at present with, and playing position. Applications will not be considered, from players outside the jurisdiction of the D.F.A. A trainer will be appointed by the New Zealand Association.

The general secretary, Mr. Sain Davidson, expects that the team will'be much stronger'than that which toured Australia two years ago, as very liberal allowances are being granted to the .players by the New Zealand Football Association.
