MELBOURNE, 20th December. In the. Sheffield Shield match against Queensland, Victoria has six wickets down for 473 (Woodfiill 58, Ponsford 151, Hendry 140, Hyde* 37, Bigg 62). The weather was fine and the wicket was goodi while the ©Utfield was much drier. Woodfull added 6 to Ms overnight score before he was dismissed. PonsfOrd and ttendry made the most of the weak bowling, and despite frequent changes and keen fielding, kept the fieldsmen busy. The tiartnership put on 217 rung in two hours and twonty-two minutes. Pohsford gave two chances at 10 and 144, while Hendjy gave a difficult chtmce at 27. Victoria had scored 511 for seven wickets When stumps were drawn (King not out 39, Liddieutt 16).
Queensland's first innings score waß 147.
