In view oJ: the largo number of qualified students being turned out by the Training. College, the Education Board lias been urged to take steps to Jill all positions with graded teachers and dispense with the services of those teachers who had not obtained certificates. The .board has accordingly given notico about six teachers. There are about fourteen uneertifieated teachers iirCanterbury, but the majority of these have almost qualified for certificates, having only one or two more subjects in which to qualify. *•.* these teachers '.re doing satisfactory work the board is giving them a chance l~ qu£:.u.y next year. The board will enforce the regulation regarding married women. Thi3 provides that the board will not appoint married women, whose husbands are able to support them, v other c n!"ible teachers are available.
