NOISE IN LAMBTON QUAY

I"* Sir, —The surface of the road iii jtLam'bton quay lias been in si bad state ■for many months, and tho council employees arc-now busy patching it up. Why is it that the council usually makes up its mind to repair tho quay •at the busiest period of the year? The noise of the drillers and tho interference with traffic makes it decidedly inconvenient to the' businoss section of the quay. In . any up-to-date r.ity, of this description would bo done at' night time, and dono in a quarter p'f the time it is -taking.r-I am, etc., WATCHMAN.
