APPOINTMENT NOT YET CONSIDERED. In a letter to the Editor of "The Post" a correspondent, "Perturbed," states that it is rumoured that the position of Director of Education (vacated by the retirement of. Mr. J. Caughley) has already been filled by the promotion of. a certain official. The writer asks, if that is so, what is the use of advertising for applications 1 Inquiries made in regard to the points raised by "Perturbed" show that the question of the selection of a successor to the Director of Education has not yet been considered; and, further, cannot be given serious consideration for some days yet.
